1. What's Included?
Namecheap offers a **Free Migration Guarantee**. They promise to migrate your website within 24 hours of receiving the request, or your first year of hosting is free (subject to their terms).
- Full cPanel Backups: If your current host uses cPanel, the team can move everything—emails, files, and databases—perfectly.
- WordPress Sites: Even if you don't have cPanel, they can often migrate WordPress sites using admin credentials.
2. Requirements for a Free Migration
To qualify, you must have an active hosting plan on Namecheap (Stellar, Stellar Plus, or Stellar Business). You should also have your current host's login details or a full backup file ready.
3. How to Request a Migration
Log into your Namecheap account and navigate to the Support section. Open a new ticket for the "Migrations" department. Provide your current hosting provider, login credentials, and the domain you want to move.
4. What Happens Next?
The migration team will verify the credentials and start the transfer. **Do not cancel your old hosting** until you have verified that the site is working perfectly on Namecheap. Once the transfer is done, they will ask you to update your Nameservers.
Migration Checklist
- Backup your site locally before starting.
- Check if your SSL certificates will transfer.
- Update your A records or Nameservers only *after* the team gives the green light.
